    This 100+ year old company includes 3 facilities across the state of Illinois. Founded in 1888, this organization focuses on the production and manufacturing of custom gears. Each of their locations has its own machining department and utilizes the latest technological advances. In addition, they strive to be the employer of choice by focusing on bringing their employees together as a cohesive group through weekly meetings, as well as monthly company events (and seem to be succeeding, as their staff has an average tenure of 15-25 years!)  

     

    Currently, the company is looking for a talented Tooling/Applications Engineer to work a 1st shift position out of the company's Addison facility. This 150,000 sqft location holds 117 employees (over 3 shifts) and even contains climated controlled areas. In sum, this role would allow you to make a significant impact on the company's productivity by improving process in areas such as reducing cycle times.

    Responsibilities

    • Maintain an accurate catalog of tooling

    • Create new tooling drawings and add them to the catalog

    • Oversee and track new tooling during manufacturing

    • Identify and implement cost effective ways to reduce manufacturing lead times by reducing machine and or queue times

    • Track and report cost savings

    Qualifications

    • Minimum five years’ experience in designing work holding tooling

    • Knowledge of CNC machining operations

    • Proficiency with a computerized drafting program

    • Strong organizational skills

    • Familiarity with gear machining operations and lean processes a plus
