The operation recently bought 6 brand new, high-end, Doosan machines  - 5 axis mill, lathes with live tooling and others - to support their innovative growth plans.  The ownership is committed to proving the latest technologies to support their manufacturing efforts and with over 100 employees and growing this role puts you in a position to be part of it all!

This is a high mix operation where you will work on prototype / low batch parts, some volume production projects, and everything in between

As the Lead CNC Machinist, you will take the lead operating, troubleshooting and optimizing the 6 brand new machines that were recently purchased. You will also train operators and apprentices as you share you wealth of knowledge. You will be part of the an extremely positive growth plan as you work on a variety of parts and machines.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate 5 axis mills and lathes
  • Troubleshoot machines
  • Train and teach apprentices

Qualifications

  • Strong set up and operating experience of 5 axis machines (including 3+2 and/or 4+1) OR a desire to learn if you have 3-4 axis experience
  • Experience setting up lathes is preferable but not required, you would be given the opportunity to gain exposure and learn to set up live tooling lathes
  • Must have Fanuc control experience
  • Understanding of GD&T
  • Background in teaching and training, could potentially grow into a supervisor role
