CNC Prototype Programmer

This precision machine shop is located in Champaign, IL , and are hoping to add skilled Prototype Machinists to their growing team. For the past 35 years, they have made a commitment to producing high quality, affordable products for a wide variety of industries including aerospace and medical. Their 30,000sqft facility currently holds 40 employees as well as 25 CNC mills/lathes. What's more, they strive to uphold a strong cultural environment.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with complex products with low production runs (average run is 10 parts!). You will be apart of the growing 5-axis department while also expanding you knowledge by improving cycle times and amplifying your CAM programming skills!

This is a first shift position with flexible start times (most work either 5:00 AM - 3:00 PM or 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM) with half days on Friday (shift ends at 11 AM for everyone). Additionally, there is plenty of overtime opportunities with the option to work Saturdays.

• Set up and operate 5-axis CNC mills
• Program using CAM system
• Perform first article inspections

• Set up and operate experience on 5-axis mills 
• Experience working in a prototype, fast-paced environment preferred
• Ability to troubleshoot machines & improve processes
• CAM programming (PowerMill preferred) 
• Must have previous experience with .0005” or smaller tolerances
• Background with Fanuc, Hurco, or Robodrill a plus!
• Must be ITAR compliant
