Currently, they have a head-count of 400+ employees with an average tenure of 16 years. In this position, you would have the opportunity to work at their headquarters located in Costa Mesa, CA. 

 

In this position, you would be responsible for a variety of tasks relating to the supervision of employees in the machine shop.

 

This is a 1st shift position from 6 AM - 2:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with overtime opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Train employees in proper machining practices, company rules, policies, and procedures
  • Assign work to machine operators
  • Select and acquire appropriate tooling and fixtures to be used by operators
  • Request purchase or manufacture of needed tooling
  • Monitor safe work practices
  • Inspect first article parts and production runs to ensure that parts conform to specifications
  • Monitor and evaluate employee performance, recommending merit increases or disciplinary action as applicable
  • Complete work records and computer production reports
  • Assists machinists as needed

Qualifications

  • Strong previous experience in setting up, program editing, and operating of CNC machines, manual machines, and other production machinery (including pump work centers)
  • Knowledge of supervisory methods and techniques
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and shop floor data collection systems
  • Ability to analyze and solve machining and production problems
  • Ability to inspect first article parts with precision measuring equipment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to assist in employee selection, training, supervision, and evaluation
