Process Improvement Supervisor - Machine Shop

This well-established company spans across several countries including the US, Switzerland, France, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom. For the past 84 years, they have produced high quality automatic control valves using over 50 varieties of metals and grades. Currently, they have a head-count of 400+ employees with an average tenure of 16 years. In this position, you would have the opportunity to work at their headquarters located in Costa Mesa, CA. 


In this position, you would be responsible for a variety of tasks relating to all continuous improvement operations within the machining and machine programming processes; in addition to monitoring and evaluating process performance.


This is a 1st shift position from 6 AM - 2:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with overtime opportunities.

  • Establish manufacturing methods for CNC machined products
  • Generate production reports and KPIs to monitor performance and approvals
  • Develop process procedures, data sheets, and work instructions
  • Communicate with various departments to solve issues
  • Work closely with engineer to establish internal processes for efficiency, quality, and customer requirements
  • Communicate with CNC programmers to ensure drawings, programs, work-holdings and tooling are clearly defined and documented
  • Improve and optimize set up changeovers
  • recommend purchase or manufacturing of needed gauges, cutting tools, and fixtures
  • Assist in selection of new machinery and equipment
  • Participate in selection, training, and supervision of production department personnel


  • Strong previous experience in  machine shop environment, including the set up and operation of machinery
  • Knowledge of supervisory methods and techniques
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and shop floor data collection systems
  • Ability to analyze and solve machining and production problems
  • Previous experience utilizing precision measuring equipment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to assist in employee selection, training, supervision, and evaluation
