EDM Field Service Technician

ONA EDM optimizes their machinery based on the latest advances in digitization and industry 4.0 creating a broad product line of Die-sinking, Wire, and Custom EDM machines.


In this role, the ONA is looking to add to their Michigan operations an experienced Field Service Technician. Within this opportunity you would provide customer support for both installed systems as well as new installations, including diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and debugging wire and sinker EDMs. 


While this role requires some travel for installations and services it also includes work in the local office, supporting parts delivery / receiving (its expected that overnight travel is on average a week to a week and a half per month, depending on installs and needs).

  • Commissioning of new and older EDM machinery
  • Provide training to customers and operators 
  • Complete field repair and maintenance
  • Provide practical technical solutions and advice to customers
  • Respond to hot-line services
  • Assorts with desk service such as quoting, purchase/sales orders, invoicing, and shipping and receiving of parts
  • maintain organization levels of storage and warehousing of parts and materials
  • Establish and maintain strong customer relationships


  • 3-5 years of experience in field service in the machine tool industry
  • Knowledge and experience with CNC and associated softwares
  • Mechanic and electronic knowledge in EDM is a big plus!
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical drawings and schematics
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem solving capabilities
  • Capable of electronic diagnosis to circuit board level, mother boards, etc. 
  • Posses strong communication and organizational skills
  • Comfortable with computer applications such as Microsoft Office Products
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a big plus!
