Growing company looking for a dedicated Materials Manager!


Located in Hawthorne, CA, this company serves the medical and aerospace industries and has been around since the 1940's. What's more, they have worked to continuously expand their organization through significant CAPEX investment and have increased their company size by 20-30% yearly (this is a great growth opportunity!). Currently, their 70,000 square foot facility holds 60 employees and 50 CNC machines; in addition to machining they specialize in other processes such as gun drilling, honing, and wire-hold drilling. This is an opportunity to work with high end metals on complex, challenging parts in a stable environment with significant tenure among the majority of employees (very low turnover!). 


Due to their growth, they are looking for a dedicated Material Manager. In this role, you will be given the opportunity to oversee the planning, procurement, storage, control, and distribution of materials and products according to company needs and customer requirements. 


The operation is currently running a 1st and 2nd shift with plans to implement a 3rd shift. This is a salaried position with a 7AM start time, with a goal to maintain a strong work/life balance.

  • Oversee the operations for ERP integrity
  • Manage and assist with purchasing functions
  • Maintain and oversee external supply chain operations
  • Work closley with vendors and clients 
  • Manage the shipping and receiving
  • Release, reschedule, manage, split, and close production orders 
  • Oversee capacity planning and work-center scheduling
  • Interface with business development for expediting of orders and customer commitments
  • Develop and analyze inventory management reports


  • 4 year degree in Business Administration or equivalent work experience
  • 5 years experience in material control
  • Experience working in aerospace OR medical industry
  • Experiencing supervising others
  • Strong experience with ERP systems (Global Shop a big plus!)
  • Ability to develop and manage metrics for the department
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Excellent verbal and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work well with all levels of management and staff
  • Proficient with inventory reporting systems
