This company, located in Cerritos, CA, is taking creation of products to the next level through engineering innovation. An elite team of about 100 employees work on a variety of machines including mills, lathes, mill turn, and grinders to manufacture precision equipment for their customers.

 

With an emphasis on innovation, this is a truly unique role to work on an elite team of highly innovative individuals. The M.E. in this role will take ownership of processes, being responsible for machine tools, programs, setup/operating documents, and fixtures. You will also work closely with machinists and engineers to support overall functioning of the shop including cost reduction, improved lead times, continuous growth, and more!

 

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated to make their mark in a hands on role spending time on the shop floor and in the office converting design models to CNC programs, establishing shop drawings for operators, set up and run FA samples, and being a resource for shop personnel, to name a few.

 

This is a 1st shift position with a flexible start time of 7 AM on Monday- Friday. The goal is to maintain a strong work-life balance.

Responsibilities

Though not an extensive list, a few primary responsibilities will include: 

  • Converting design models to CNC programs
  • Manage CNC programming code, utilization and storage
  • Establish and improve machining processes 
  • Prepare and mange documentation for machining and fabrication
  • Design tooling and fixtures
  • Make recommendations on purchasing capital equipment and tooling 

Qualifications

  • 4 year degree in technical field (Manufacturing, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering preferred)
  • 5+ years experience in CNC machining industry, preferably in a lead role
  • Use of 3D and 2D design/drafting (SolidWorks preferred)
  • CNC Lathe programming required (Esprit preferred)
  • Machining knowledge in grinder is preferred (Studer is a plus!) 
  • Strong troubleshooting/process improvement skills
  • Ability to train others
  • A proven ability to lead, energize, direct and motivate a great group of machinists, programmers and similarly, highly skilled, personnel
  • Must comply with ITAR regulations

“In accordance with California law, the expected salary range for this California position is between $90,000 and $120,000. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.”
